We just installed a new Yamaha DM2000V2-VCM recording console and a Focusrite ISA-828 pre amp. We are now 72 in and 48 out. My first impression was that I was blown away with the sound quality. The sound is clean and transparent. I just finished a mixdown of 47 tracks and I could hear every sound in the mix with great separation, including the attack and low frequency of the timpani drums during a heavy bass, bag pipe, acoustic guitar, banjo, and vocal section in the song.

Sorry folks, I had this website hosted by ARNHOST.com. They lost my files and said I was some kind of spammer. I have no idea why thay said that to me. I am not a spammer nor would I have the technology to do it or the time. My email servers were not hosted my them.I think they lost my files and that is their excuse. Don't host with them or you may loose your file too. Oh, always backup your files!

We just purchase 6 new Shure Beta 98D/S mics to be used on drums. I did a sound check on my Tama Superstar set using this setup:

8" tom, Beta 98D/S

I tuned the drums which took 3 hours then did a sound check, taking about 3 hours or so, I am very particular about my drum sounds! This prepared the session for a 13 song Metal project which needed huge drum sounds and let me say that the sound was so big that everyone in the room was amazed at the how tight and punchy the drums sounded. The Beta 98D/S's really shined!
